Classic race begins tomorrow at
Highlands nordic at 10 am.
The teams are waxing well into the night to prepare for the
classic race tomorrow. Coaches are gathering spare poles in preparation
for the mass start format. The forecast for tomorrow is sun with
some clouds and temperatures to -7.

Canada's best Junior Men and Women
come to Highlands Nordic
Cross Country Ontario is pleased to welcome the
members of Cross Country Canada Team 2006 to the Canadian Championships
this year. Members include Drew Goldsack, Devon Kershaw, Gord
Jewett and Dan Roycroft . The Under 23 World Championships team
of Tara Whitten, Sarah Daitch, Adam Kates, Vincent Renart and
will also race next week. Tara Whitten arrives here after winning
silver at the sprint races at the U23 Championships.
World Junior Team skiers have arrived home from a successful bid
at the World Junior Championships. Members of the team who plan
to ski at the Canadian Nationals are Sean Crooks, Dave Nighbor,
Chandra Crawford, Daria Gaiazova, Madeline Williams and Graham
Nishikawa. Crooks placed 11th in the sprints at the World Junior
championships this year.
The team is currently competing at the Canada Winter Games. Both
Crooks and Crawford won gold at the Sprints on Feb 25, while Daria
Gaiazova and Tara Whitten won silver and bronze.

Junior development team members Amanda Ammar, Viktoria Koskenoja,
Alison Madlung, Ed McCarthy, Louis-Philippe Gagnon, Simon Beaudet,
Mark Doble , Terrell Stephens and Brent McMurtry who arrived home
two weeks ago after a whirlwind tour of Europe will be among Canada's
best junior athletes competing at the Canadain Ski Nationals next
week.
Cross Country Canada announces
TV coverage of the2003 Championships.
Cross Country Canada is pleased to announce
that it has reached an agreement with SportsNet to broadcast this
year’s National Championships. The broadcast is scheduled
for early April and will feature the sprint races on Saturday
the 8th of March.
The production company is XC Zone the producers of the
highly acclaimed x-ski videos High Velocity and On Snow. Cross
Country Canada believes that XC Zone will use their understanding
of x-skiing to bring a fresh exciting perspective to TV coverage
of x-skiing.
Cross Country Canada and XC Zone will also be co-producing a Video
/ DVD of the entire championships and order forms will be available
on the web site shortly. [February
