We had 12 centimetres of snow last night and it is still
snowing lightly. The trails are now groomed for classic
in preparation for tomorrow's race.
The race office is working to solve
the timing problems from yesterday. Results were delayed
until 5 pm yesterday and medals ceremonies were postponed
until thursday.
OFFICIAL RESULTS AND THURSDAY START
LISTS ARE NOW POSTED ON THE SITE.
RACERS GO OUT AT 10AM
It is 9:30 at night and the wax trailers
are buzzing.
Erika Langman (Junior Girls) reflects on her race
Congratulations
to the winners of yesterdays races: Senior men William
Fitzgerald, Senior Women Tasha Betcherman,
Junior Women Colleen Mortimer, Junior
men Sean Crooks, Junior Boys Jesse
Heckrodt, Junior girls Viktoria Koskenoja,
Juvenile Boys, Frederic Touchette, Juvenile
Girls Kate Brennan.
We have been out on the trails talking to
the skiers. Many of them have given
me messages to send home to their families.
I
spoke with Leanna Mitchell from the BC Team
today before her race. Leanne tells me that the course
is very different from courses out west. She finds the
trail flatter than those in BC and is used to skiing
through conifers instead of our deciduous trees.
Alan Whitten from the Edmonton team
had a good race. He reported that the first half of
the course was a lot of climbing, but the second half
went by fast. The finish in the stadium area was very
fast
Dave Nighbor said it was a great skating
day. He feels he has been a bit tired since his return
from Europe and is not quite on form.
Carl Skinstad said he felt good but
is still tired from the Canada Winter Games
