Open Men and Women
A seeding list prepared by Cross Country Canada February 28 will be used to group athletes for a random draw. The list will be on the event web site by midnight February 28. The list will be posted at the Race Office by 13:00 Sunday March 2. Divisions who do not have skiers in the best group by points may select one skier to be elevated to the best group.
Juniors and Juvenile Boys and Girls.
Seeding lists for grouping will be available to Division Coaches at 15:00 Sunday March 2 to be submitted by noon Monday March 3. Skiers in Divisions that do not submit seeding forms will be grouped according to their CPL standing relative to the other participants i.e. if there are 3 groups in the category and the skier is in the second third by points they will be placed in the second group.
Open Men and Women
Skiers will be started in order of points on the seeding list published by Cross Country Canada February 28 i.e. the holder of the highest points score has the first start position.
Adjustments to the points order will be made by appeal through the Race Secretary up to noon, Wednesday March 5. Note that this list will also be used for the Long Distance race Sunday March 9.

Declaration of teams (plus 2 alternates) due 16:00 Thursday March 6.
Start order of teams to be in order of last yearŐs finish.
Declaration of teams due 21:00 Thursday March 6.
Start order will be arbitrary at the discretion of the Chief of Competition.

Skiers in Divisions that do not submit seeding forms will be grouped according to their CPL standing relative to the other participants i.e. if there are 3 groups in the category and the skier is in the second third by points they will be placed in the second group. Draw will be random within groups.
Start order is based on results from 2001 National Championships. Clubs who did not compete at that event will be drawn in positions behind those clubs who did compete.
