The 2004 Canadian Cross-Country Ski Championships will be
held in Charlo, New Brunswick. Les Aventuriers Ski Club and the 2004
Canadian Cross-Country Ski Championships organizing committee are pleased
to invite you to attend the national ski event scheduled from Sunday,
March 14 to Sunday, March 21, 2004. The Championships will feature
3 major cross-country ski events in ONE: 1)
The Canadian Junior Championships for ages 19 and younger (men and women) 2)
The Canadian Senior Championships (open class) with no age restrictions 3)
The Canadian Colleges and Universities Nordic Championships.
The format for the national championships will include Open and Challenge Club
Relays on the first day of competition. A two-day pursuit, sprints and distance
events will also be staged.
Schedule of events for the 2004 Canadian Cross-Country Ski Championships
We are very excited about having members of the National and Canadian Olympic Ski Teams compete at the 2004 Canadian Cross-Country Ski Championships. Beckie Scott, gold medalist at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games will be in Charlo to compete in the Championships. Milaine Thériault, native of New Brunswick, member of the National Ski Team and two-time Olympian will also act as the Honorary President of the 2004 Canadian Cross-Country Ski Championships. Sara Renner is another two-time Olympian who will be taking part in the competitions.
Information on the 2004 Canadian Cross-Country Ski Championships will be posted on the following website www.skinationals.com on a regular basis to offer participants updates on the events and information on northern New Brunswick. The 2004 Registration forms can also be found on the website. Participants are asked to register before Thursday, March 4th, 2004.
For information on transportation and accommodations, please contact the local Restigouche Tourism Association at (506) 789-6522 or the website at www.destinationrestigouche.ca. We encourage participants to stay in communities near the Championships site in Charlo: Dalhousie (10 minute drive), Balmoral (10 minute drive), Campbellton (30 minute drive), Pointe-à-la Croix, Québec (45 minute drive) and Bathurst (1 hour drive to the site).
